Thermatel® TA2 principle of operation is based on thermal dispersion technology consisting in maintaining constant temperature difference between reference RTD sensor measuring actual process temperature and heated sensor equipped with RTD.
Flow transmitter Thermatel ® TA2 utilizes thermal dispersion technology for gas mass flow measurement .
Principle of operation is based on maintaining constant temperature difference between reference RTD sensor measuring actual process temperature and heated sensor equipped with RTD. Gas flow causes cooling of heated sensor in which to maintain constant temperature difference more power needs to be provided. The higher flow the more power needs to be provided to maintain constant temperature difference. Measurement of provided power level in respect to gas flow is converted by electronics to mass flow based on calibration curve.
Typical applications of Thermatel® TA2 are flow measurement for example: air, natural gas, biogas, nitrogen or hydrogen
